Bob practices in all aspects of Criminal Law. EXPERIENCE Bob’s main areas of specialism include complex fraud, serious violence and drugs cases. He regularly appears in the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division). Bob has considerable experience in firearms cases and large scale football violence. Bob also undertakes privately funded road traffic cases. He has been led on a number of occasions. In addition he has a busy Prison Law Practice and regularly conducts parole hearings as well as adjudications. Bob is a member of the Sports Law Direct team which provides representation at disciplinary hearings and regulatory matters. He also offers awareness seminars for sporting figures on staying within the law both in and outside the sporting area – conduct, public order, alcohol, driving, sexual behaviour and privacy. CASES Attorney-General’s reference No 64 of 2003; Regina v Harrison [2004] 2 Cr App R (S) 22 - Successful appeal against custodial sentence on behalf of John Harrison. The case became the guideline case on DTTOs Attorney-General’s reference Nos 53, 54, 55, 56 & 57 of 2001 [2001] EWCA Crim 1963 - Referral for unduly lenient sentence for robbery R v Sheikh Mansoor and others – Junior counsel in large scale passport fraud operation at Manchester Crown Court R v Zerihun and others – Instructed to advise defence witnesses in relation to anonymity orders at Manchester Crown Court R v Desmond Southern and others – Junior counsel in large scale fraudulent evasion of duty at Manchester Crown Court.
