- Richard Dawson joined Young Street as a pupil and, upon the completion of his pupillage, took up the offer of a place in the Criminal Team. Candidates interested in undertaking a mini-pupillage should address their applications for the attention of Richard Dawson.
He has been instructed in a wide variety of cases, both privately and publicly funded. His criminal practice is predominantly Defence focused. However he is often instructed on behalf of the Prosecution and has prosecuted for a variety of different prosecuting authorities; including the Crown Prosecution Service, the Probation Service (now the National Offender Management Service) and Youth Offending Team, the Asset Recovery Agency, local authorities and HM Revenue and Customs.
Richard Dawson's practice has embraced all aspects of the criminal law, including murder and manslaughter, fraud, firearms, offences of serious violence and dishonesty, public disorder and major drugs and mental heath cases.
He has developed a strong reputation for hard work, immaculate preparation and clear fact management in complex cases and he is highly regarded by all those who instruct him.
