Practice:
Mark Friend joined Chambers and undertook pupillage before being invited to join the Criminal Team as a tenant.

Mark has rapidly developed an extremely busy practice which covers all aspects of criminal law. His practice encompasses both defence and prosecution briefs in a wide range of cases both privately and publicly funded.

Experience:
Mark has experience of a broad variety of criminal cases.

He has been involved in a number of privately funded motoring cases across the north of England; and also regularly appears to prosecute on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service, Probation Service and Youth Offending Team.

Mark has been instructed in complex cases involving prosecutions by the Federation Against Copyright Theft Ltd (F.A.C.T.) and the Serious Fraud Office; and he has particular experience in confiscation proceedings.

Mr Friend has acted as junior counsel in a number of cases, including those involving allegations of serious sexual mis-conduct and large scale frauds.

Mr Friend also has experience of video and TV link cases involving young and vulnerable witnesses.
