David Mackley

- David is a member of the family team and practises in all areas of family law.
In addition he advises and represents local authorities in matters relating to disclosure of social work files and public interest immunity.
He also prosecutes matters under the Education Act 1996 on behalf of local authorities.
- Experience:
- Following his call to the Bar, David undertook a variety of legal posts including research assistant, paralegal for a major UK insurance company and legal assistant in a local authority legal team.
In 2001, David was admitted as a solicitor and spent the next five years at Bolton Council. As a local authority solicitor his role involved:
- Conducting care proceedings up to and including final hearing;
- Advising Children's Services in respect of child care legal issues;
- Advising Adult Social Services;
- Advising and representing the Mental Health Team.
David joined Chambers in January 2007 and, after undertaking a reduced pupillage of 6 months under the guidance of Paul Manasse, became a tenant in July 2007.
