Gary Burrell Q.C. is a common law specialist with significant experience in criminal law including fraud, personal injury and clinical negligence. He is primarily based on the North Eastern Circuit, where he is Head of Paradise Chambers, but also practises from Thomas More Chambers, London. He sits as a Deputy High Court Judge, Crown Court Recorder and Mental Health Review Tribunal Chairman (part-time). He prosecutes and defends in serious criminal cases and has specialised in cases where complex medical issues have been involved

    Prosecuted deaf without speech father for drowning his severely disabled child in a so called mercy killing.

    Defended in a gang rape of a vulnerable and deaf without speech woman.
  • R v. Russell and Woods (2007, Hull)
    Prosecuted a drugs related murder by knife attack.
  • R v. Harrington (2007, Hull)
    Defended 14 year old girl in a multi-handed murder.
  • R v. Lucas (2007, Grimsby)
    Defended a 69 year old grandmother for cruelty in failing to protect children against sexual offending by former partner
